Laleh Motlagh is Awarded the CAC BOLT Residency
One of our CAPE teaching artists, Laleh Motlagh, was awarded the Chicago Artist Coalition‘s BOLT Residency, which offers artists and curators unique opportunities to develop their practices, collaborate, and exchange ideas.
In Laleh’s words, this opportunity means “creating links in Chicago’s art community and working towards the group and solo shows…I am proud to be a teaching artist with CAPE. I find it a great way to give back to the community, Teach, learn, and grow in a supportive and engaging environment.”
Laleh was born in Tabriz, Iran and is currently based in Chicago, IL. She received her MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has exhibited nationally and internationally: U.S., Germany, Italy, and Iran. She has been an artist-in-residence at Nature, Art, and Habitat Residency: “ANIMALS: Interdependence Between Species” (Taleggio Valley, Italy), “Plants, Animals, People” at Kunsthalle Bellow (Techentin, Germany), Institut für Alles Mögliche (Berlin, Germany), and House of Nature (Wald, Germany).
The work of our students would not be possible without the work, commitment, and passion from our teachers and teaching artists. That is why whenever one of our teaching artists celebrates a win, we are also excited to celebrate alongside them! The work of our artists is important to us as an organization, and we look forward to sharing more wins for our CAPE community!
