West Chicago Program Coordinator
CAPE seeks a part-time Program Coordinator to provide logistical, administrative, and communications support for CAPE’s after school programming at two school sites in West Chicago School District 33. This position is responsible for representing CAPE’s mission to expand access for arts education and to engage parents in their children’s learning. CAPE’s partnership with SD33 to implement after-school programs is built on community school principles and arts integration practices, following CAPE’s long-established program structures.
A successful candidate will regularly communicate with and update the Associate Director of Education on program activities and tasks and contribute to the organization. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining regular communications to the West Chicago District 33 Director of Community Partnerships, and among school administrators, teachers, teaching artists, front desk clerk, and school liaisons and CAPE staff.

West Chicago Area Teaching Artist Opportunities
(Geneva, Batavia, St. Charles, Wheaton, Naperville, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Winfield, Carol Stream, Warrenville, Lombard)
CAPE is hiring teaching artists for the 2024-25 Creative Haven Program at Currier Elementary School (800 Garys Mill Rd, West Chicago, IL 60185). Desired art forms include but are not limited to visual art, music, dance, theater, and fiber art.
- Compensation: $50/hour for instructional hours, $100/mth for planning, $25/hour for professional development hours.
- Status: Part-time Independent Contractor, grant-based position.
- Schedule: 2 days a week during after-school hours, January-May.
- Professional Development: Up to 12 hours of professional development meetings.
- Benefits: N/A
DUTIES
- Co-plan arts-integrated standards-aligned curriculum with partner artist and teacher curriculum consultant.Observe classroom content instruction during the school day.
- Maintain project timeline.
- Document project activities in the assigned online class portfolio.
- Attend all professional development meetings, on and off-site.
- Prepare student artwork for public sharings (school showcases or performances, exhibitions and programming, or other).
- Consistently communicate with CAPE staff members through email and/or phone.
- Engage in research participation as needed.
- Conduct student assessments for inquiry development.
