Upcoming CAPE Exhibitions – Spring 2018

 In The CAPE Blog

We are so excited to announce not one, not two, but THREE upcoming exhibitions of work from CAPE schools!

Up first is Shifting Boundaries: Community Arts Practice in Public Schools, which will run March 1-15, 2018 at the Hairpin Arts Center in Logan Square. Shifting Boundaries will feature work from our after-school programs at Waters Elementary, Telpochcalli Elementary, George Washington High School, and North-Grand High School, and include collaborative works with a community focus from students, parents, families, and school community members. May 1-15, 2018, we’ll present another exhibition at Hairpin Arts Center to showcase the innovative work being done by teachers and classrooms participating in ATLAS, a partnership program of CAPE and Chicago Public Schools. Click here to learn more about ATLAS, a sustained and intensive program of arts integration professional development designed to strengthen the integration of the arts and technology with other core academic content. We can’t wait to share the artistic results of this ongoing program, and we’ll post more exhibition details soon!

Immediately proceeding the ATLAS exhibition will be our annual Convergence exhibition at the Bridgeport Arts Center! Convergence is our biggest yearly celebration of the students, teachers, teaching artists, and schools in our Artist/Research Partnerships cohort and CAPE’s longest running partnerships. Convergence will run May 16-June 13, 2018, and we’ll post more details soon.
