Camras Unveils Community Mural in Celebration of 15 Years

 In Mark Diaz

The school occupies the former Notre Dame High School for Girls, which Principal Dominicci attended.

In honor of its 15th anniversary, Marvin Camras Children’s School of Engineering unveiled a vibrant new community mural created by students, families, and staff. Principal Clariza Dominicci led the charge with a vision to unite the school community around a shared artistic expression of the school’s mission: Embrace, Encourage, Empower, Enhance.

The project was co-led by 8th grade teacher Shums Jabra and teaching artist Jessica Mueller, who guided the school through a collaborative design process. Through community surveys and workshops, students and parents shape the imagery that would become the mural’s final composition.

Ms. Jabra and Ms. Mueller worked hand in hand with dedicated parent assistants as every Camras student painted a section of the mural—truly making it a schoolwide creation.

The finished mural now stands as a colorful testament to the Camras spirit of innovation, inclusion, and collective pride.
