Asya Dubrovina is a filmmaker and artist based in Chicago, IL. Through film and installation, her works investigate the in-betweenness of place and memory. Asya collects stories and images to produce a wider social and historical perspective through a poetic lens. The observational point of view does not merely describe things as they are but offers questions and connections to that which lies outside the frame. Her work has been shown in galleries and universities around the U.S. She was the University Fellowship recipient in 2019 at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
